It's Christmas time? . . . Already!!!
Christmas is upon us and I just can't believe where the year has gone. My hope for this Christmas season is not for record crushing sales (although that would be nice) but rather that we all look back over the past year and reflect on how truly blessed we are. I realize, that for some, the holidays can be a rough time. As one who has lost both of my parents within the last couple of years, my thoughts and prayers go out to you.
As I sit here and write this, I can't help but think about my wife. She absolutely loves Christmas time. Especially Christmas movies. You know the cheesy Hallmark movies that all have the same predictable formula. The same movies that have the inevitable ability to suck you in regardless of how "stupid" you think they are. And why is that? I think it's because we all want the ever elusive happy ending. I think, on some level, we all yearn for a simplier time that is represented in a lot of those movies. Neighbors actually talk to one another and look out for each other. Small town businesses are owned by people with integrity and ethics with an attitude of truly wanting to help their townfolk. This is the culture that I strive to foster at Avalon. Do we always get it right? Unfortunately, we do not. However our desire is to provide you with a warm, comfortable atmosphere to discover the floor of your dreams.
Believe it or not, this actually started out as a quick post to share our Christmas hours. With that said, we will be closed from December 26th until January 3rd.
May God richly bless you and your family this Christmas season and the year to come.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours!
